Scribe & Fit

Bespoke joinery fitting, London

The fit is the finish.

I install bespoke kitchens, fitted furniture, staircases and doors across London and the commuter belt — planned to the millimetre, finished with care.

What I do

Your maker builds it. I make it fit.

I don't build furniture in a workshop. I'm the specialist who installs what the best makers build — scribing every piece to walls, floors and ceilings that are never quite straight.

Also: panelling, cladding, window fitting and shop fitting.

Drag the handle. First the template, traced round a carved capital — then the oak header, cut by hand to the same line.

How I work

I plan before I cut.

Most of the skill in fitting is invisible once the job's done: the templating, levelling and scribing. It's also the part that decides whether an expensive kitchen looks expensive.

  1. Step 1: Survey and template

I measure everything. Where a wall, floor or column isn't straight, I make a full-size template of it.

  2. Step 2: Plan every detail

I work from your maker's or designer's drawings and plan each cut and fixing before anything goes on the wall.

  3. Step 3: Fit with care

Your materials stay protected while each piece is scribed to the room, so it sits tight with no gaps to fill.

  4. Step 4: Finish, check and tidy up

Doors aligned, gaps even, everything checked with you — and the room left clean.

Before and after, every time.

Every project shows the rough stage next to the finished result — the part of the job you don't normally get to see.

Commercial & trade

Trusted on demanding projects.

I've worked on the joinery for the rooftop restaurant and bar of a five-star London hotel, fitted curved booths between period columns, and installed office fit-outs from the reception desk to the last door frame.

Kitchen makers, designers and builders: I work from your drawings, hold an SMSTS site-safety ticket, and finish when I say I will.

About me

Craft runs in the family.

I grew up in a small forest town where woodworking goes back generations. After 7 years in high-end joinery, my standard hasn't changed: if it isn't right, it isn't finished.
