Privacy notice
Your details, and photos of your home.
Last updated 26 September 2026
When you ask me for a quote, you often share more than a name and number — you share photos of the inside of your home. I take that seriously. This page explains what I collect, why, who else sees it, how long I keep it, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who I am
Scribe & Fit is a small, owner-run business, and I'm the “controller” of the personal information collected through this website. If you have any question about how I handle your information, email aleksandras.alaburda@gmail.com.
What I collect, and why
If you use the quote form, I receive what you send: your name, phone number, email, postcode, the type of work, a description of the project, rough sizes, your preferred start date, a budget range, how you heard about me, and any photos or drawings you choose to attach. I use it to reply to you and prepare a quote. My lawful basis is that you've asked me to take these steps before we (possibly) agree a contract.
If you use the trade form, I receive your name, company, email, phone number and project details. I use them to reply and to talk about working together, on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
If you call, email or message me on WhatsApp, I receive whatever you send, and use it the same way. WhatsApp is run by Meta, which handles messages under its own privacy terms.
I only ask for a postcode, not your full address, until we're further along. You never have to use the form — calling or messaging works just as well.
Photos of your home
Photos you send me are personal information. I use them only to understand and price your project, I keep them securely, and I delete them along with your enquiry if the project doesn't go ahead (see “How long I keep it”).
The projects shown on this website are only there with the owner's written permission. I name the area (a borough or town), never a street; I don't show house numbers, front doors or family photos; and I remove location data from every photo before it goes online.
Just browsing?
Then I collect nothing about you personally. Like every website, this one's host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address in its server logs to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. That isn't used to identify or profile you.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. If I add analytics, I'll use a cookieless tool that counts visits in aggregate rather than tracking people — and if I ever use anything that sets cookies, I'll ask for your consent first and update this page.
The Instagram link is just a link: no feed or tracking code from Instagram loads on these pages.
Who else sees your information
Form submissions are delivered by my form provider, Formspree, and arrive in my email inbox, so those services process your information on my behalf. Formspree is based in the United States; where a provider stores data outside the UK, I rely on UK-approved safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge). I don't sell, rent or share your details with anyone else, and I won't add you to a mailing list.
How long I keep it
If a project doesn't go ahead, I delete the enquiry — including any photos — within 12 months of our last contact. If we do work together, your details become part of my customer records, which I keep for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting (usually six years). If you'd like your enquiry deleted sooner, just ask.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to: tell you what information I hold about you and give you a copy; correct it; delete it; restrict how I use it; or object to my using it. You can also ask for the information you gave me in a portable format. Email aleksandras.alaburda@gmail.com and I'll respond within a month, usually much sooner. There's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk— though I'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If how I handle information changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top. Anything unclear? Ask me at aleksandras.alaburda@gmail.com.
